Drawing is a way for me to navigate the intersection of physical, theoretical, and imagined projections of the world. These projections might be the world that is to come, the world that has passed, or the world that is in a state of being formed. In exploring these formations, I refer to both organic and architecturally constructed growth, searching for the ideal or catastrophic results that might occur when they are combined.
In this search for ideal formations and methods of building, I am interested in a certain kind of desireone that is sought through material manifestations and has the inevitable potential to change shape, grow excessive, or become its own worst fear. I am drawn to forms of technology or synthetic materials that might improve, threaten, or co-exist with the natural world. I seek to create imagery that reflects the nature of its own construction and thereby also questions its own existence, permanence, and relevance.
